About the Artist
(who is also a therapist)
"SHE'S SURPRISINGLY GOOD AT PIANO!"
-A trustworthy asshole
Once upon a time 2 years ago, a therapist named Britt got angry.
After years of therapizing others, it had become increasingly clear that many "problems" people experience are not psychological, but stem from deeper systemic issues with society.
Britt respects HIPPA, so she kept this to herself for a while. But eventually, she found herself sitting down at the piano. Over the next several months, Britt began writing comedy piano songs designed to call attention to the tough realities of our psychological world, and to use laughter, truth, and even sometimes tears to cope with them. Soapbox Therapy was born.
Since its first show in 2022, Soapbox Therapy has spiraled into a country-wide phenomenon, drawing crowds from around the nation. Using a range of styles from pop to musical theater to country, each show is a unique experience- you never know which topics will show up. (Britt has yet to run out of topics. She is still writing.) Considered a therapeutic experience of its own, Soapbox invites audiences to listen, slow down, and grow. In the words of an audience member, "it's the stuff we're all ready to hear."
